The Decemberists

Can you believe it is almost December? What a crazy and fun year it has been. I hope all of you had an awesome Thanksgiving. I spent the extended weekend in Nashville doing a charity run, eating way too much and taking care of the newest editions to the Womack family.

Back to the grindstone now as we concentrate on the new single, Twenty Years And Two Husbands Ago. Are you calling your local radio station to request the song? How about voting on radio websites? Or voting for the new video on GAC.com? Lots to do people, so chop chop!

The nice folks over at my favorite frivilous magazine (although their Must List is, well, a must) named the iTunes Originals version of She's Got You a must download of the week. Nice!

A good friend of mine works at a great organization called LIFEbeat and they are having a kick ass auction starting December 1. There is a Lee Ann signed vinyl up for auction if anyone has been looking to get their hands on it. It is for a great cause, and you can't beat a signed vinyl. Everbody wins.

Radio Cure

Twenty Years And Two Husbands Ago is officially at your favorite radio station today, so check the link to the right for all your requesting needs. I have a feeling this is going to be a smash at radio, so let's request, request, request! Also, don't forget to vote on your radio station's website (if they have one) for the song. If you speak to any DJs, or hear them talk about the song on the radio, I'd love to hear what they have to say!

Also, don't forget to watch for Lee Ann on the American Music Awards, tomorrow on ABC at 8ET/7CT.

Press Roundup

I'm gonna do my best to highlight all of the press LAW has received this past week, but feel free to leave a comment if you've found one I haven't mentioned here. She has been the talk of the country this week, and I've been getting IMs and emails from friends of mine all over the country coming up with more articles. Thanks to all who have contributed...

-Coolfer.com mentions the show (my favorite music news blog)
-FoxNews.com
-The pride of Jacksonville, Texas
-Entertainment Weekly blog mentions the Bowery Ballroom show (Thanks Robin!)
-CMA dances with Womack, but radio sits out
-Picks from Dallas the day before the awards
-5 things you didn't know about LAW (but I'm betting you guys did!)
-LAW goes global...
-...twice.
-CMT.com's Craig Shelburne writes a great piece on LAW's backstage press room comments
-LAW is the queen of the CMAs
-Dallas media outlet has a nice take on the awards
-East Texas celebrates LAW

Happy reading!

Oh My Gosh, I'm the Winner!

I've been trying to get over here all day to post, but it has been one of those days where I just now looked up at the clock and it is 4:30. Yesterday might have been one of the more crazy evenings of my life. First, there was the storms and impending not one, but 2 tornado sirens. I've yet to hear a tornado siren in my life and last night I got to hear it twice in an hour. Then there was seeing Aubrie on the red carpet being interviewed by Joan Rivers. More storm dodging ensued. Then there was settin the TiVo to record the awards on CBS, having the start of the broadcast move to Nashville's cable CBS station, then back to basic CBS. I bet I have the most chopped up recording in TiVo history of the same show. But, wow! What a payoff! 3 wins....and Album Of the Year at that. To me, that is the biggie. Because at the end of the day, we're all here for the music right?

I've had several reports that Lee Ann got a mention on The Colbert Report. I'm trying to find out for myself and I'll report back. I'm pretty fired up about that, being such a huge fan of The Daily Show.

There's about 100 (no lie!) articles about LAW that have popped up in the past few days. When I can get through them all, I'll post the best ones. For now, I've got to get caught up. Enjoy the victory everyone!

Tonight's the Night

So, tonight is the big night. I was going to post a ton of links of press that LAW has been in but Mother Nature has intervined and I have to cut this short. We're staring down the barrel of one of the biggest storm fronts since the 70's! I didn't believe it either when I read that earlier today, but the storm has already dropped 3 tornadoes in the area in the past hour, so I need to get things prepared around the house. If I'm able to, I'll try to live blog the awards tonight. Fingers crossed everyone!

Let's Go Crazy

Man, oh man. Things are CRAZY around Camp LAW. Lee Ann has been in NYC for a few days doing all kinds of press and shows leading up to tomorrow's CMA's. Saturday night was the "Broadway Meets Country" show at the famous Lincoln Center. Lee Ann co-hosted the show with Broadway star Brian Stokes Mitchell. For those of you who couldn't make it to the show, XM Satellite Radio's On Broadway channel will broadcast the concert next week at various times starting at 12 p.m./9 a.m. ET/PT, Nov. 24. For further times, keep an eye on XM Radio's website, as well as LAW.com.

Last night was a busy one for the LAW as she attended the Walk the Line premiere at the Beacon Theater (beautiful place!) on the Upper West Side. It was quite the star studded affair....good LAW friends Shooter Jennings and Waylon Payne (very good looking guy in the 20 Years video!) were there as well as Shania Twain, LeAnn Rimes, everyone's favorite Gilmore Girl Lauren Graham, Jane Seymour, Luke Wilson, and many others. From that, Lee Ann hopped in a cab and raced to the Lower East Side to the Rodeo Bar to host The Front Porch show for 99.5 The Wolf. Did anyone listen online? It was a great show, and they even gave away Lee Ann's personal iPod to the 99th caller. The contest was open to everyone in the country listening, but it just so happened that someone inside the bar was the 99th caller. Crazy! Congrats to Emily of New Jersey for winning the iPod.

Tonight is the LAW/Shooter show at the Bowery Ballroom. I'm totally jealous of whoever is going to be at this show....it should be amazing! There are still a very limited number of tickets available if you would like to attend. Better snatch them up quick though!

Well, tomorrow is the big day. I'll check back in tomorrow, but keep your fingers crossed everyone!

Live From the Front Porch

Lee Ann is LIVE on the radio now from NYC with 99.5, The Wolf. They'll be on the air until 11ET/10CT, so be sure to head on over and listen! They are actually about to give away Lee Ann's personal iPod..you won't want to miss that!

From the New York Times

On Monday night, the city's best rock club, the Bowery Ballroom, plays host to one of the (long) weekend's best concerts. Ms. Womack, who has six C.M.A. nominations, is a country-pop star who reinvented herself as a neotraditionalist; her current album, "There's More Where That Came From," is full of elegant weepers. She is to be joined by Shooter Jennings, the rock 'n' roll son of Waylon.

Obviously a lot of the press has never heard Never Again, Again, but this is a nice thing for such a huge paper to say. Is anyone going to this show?

The Prodigal Daughter Returns

She's baaaaaaack! My laptop returned from the place where expensive toys go to be fixed and seems to be ok. Now I've begun the tedious process of getting things back onto it....5,000+ songs, programs, work related documents, thousands of photos....you get the idea.

As you can imagine, there is a TON of stuff going on right now in preparation for the awards on Tuesday. So much so, I'm just gonna lay down a list of links for all the places online LAW has been popping up these days. She's one busy lady!

Newsday.com has a nice article on LAW including new photos
How much does LAW really know about NYC?
Nashville Scene weighs in on all things CMA
New York Times recognizes I May Hate Myself In the Morning songwriter Odie Blackmon
Newsday.com highlights events throughout the CMA weekend, including Broadway Meets Country and the LAW/Shooter show at the Bowery Ballroom
New York Times takes a look at how the worlds of high street fashion and country music collide
RollingStone.com kindly mentions both the Bowery Ballroom show and LAW's DJ stint at the Rodeo Bar
Lee Ann promises more country

Whew. She's everywhere! She's everywhere!

Thanks too to those of you who are emailing leads on a new kitten for Aubrie. We're going through everything and hope to find a new kitty soon!

I Wanna Meet The Man

Since The Great Laptop Crash Of 2005, I've since lost the meet and greet list I had going for the few fall/winter shows. If you had emailed me in the past about getting on the list for one of them, please email me again and let me know. Totally sorry for the inconvenience....believe me, it has been rough!

Hope all is well with everyone. I've been SLAMMED this past week and will be leading up to the awards. I feel like I haven't left my room in days. Is anyone planning on celebrating awards night? We're having a small gathering here....although it interferes with Gilmore Tuesday! What's a girl to do?!?
