And the Winner Is....

Patricia Hill! Congrats Patricia! And thanks to all of you who participated in the CMT.com message board contest. Just because the contest is over doesn't mean you guys should stop posting over there. Keep up all of your hard work, and remember I'm lurking over there. :) We'll have another contest sometime in mid summer (this time for an autographed vinyl!) so stay tuned for that.

LAW is going to be in the press at bit next week as we head into the Big Throwdown II tour. Tuesday, June 7 she will be on Access Hollywood doing a segment on fashion for the tour. The show is syndicated, but you can check here for showtimes and channels in your area. Wednesday, June 8 there will be a spread on the same shopping trip in Life & Style weekly. You can find Life & Style most places magazines are sold.

I was just doing my hourly rounds over at LAW.com and happened to pop into the photo section. The photo below gave me a good chuckle. Make sure you guys frequent the photos section...we're always adding new ones!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Memorial Day weekend. Was anyone successful in requesting He Oughta Know That By Now in a city they were traveling through?

Food For Thought

Are any of you traveling over the weekend? If so, maybe you could take the numbers to radio stations of cities you'll be passing through and request He Oughta Know That By Now while you are on the road. It might make a good story for radio too! "I was just traveling through, listening to your station, and would love it if you would play He Oughta Know That By Now by Lee Ann Womack....". Easiest way to find a station would be to google the name of the city and then "country radio station". If you have trouble finding one, let me know and I'll help you track it down.

If you are traveling this weekend, be safe! Going anywhere good? Let us know! I'm just hanging in Nashville for the weekend....got more movies to watch (Meet the Fockers, The Motorcycle Diaries, still gotta get around to What the &$%# Do We Know?), yardwork to do, hope to make it to the Belcourt for a film, and my roommate and I are going out to photograph old neon signs around town. Enjoy the long weekend everyone!

(P.S - Does anyone else have the new Coldplay single, Speed Of Sound, in their head? GREAT song, but I can't stop singing it! ARGH!)

Dot Blogspot Dot Com

I just saw a hilarious spot about blogs on The Daily Show. Cable news seems to have realized all of a sudden that blogs are a big deal (even though Blogger and other forms of blogging have been around since 98ish). The report got me thinking....what do you think about blogs? Do you like reading this one? Feel like it is an informative (yet informal) place to receive information? Any other artists you know of have blogs? Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Tuesday Night Music Club

Howdy folks. Hope this post finds you well. I'm spending my day elbow deep in video. Trying to put together a totally kick butt video for the Fan Club party. Want to come to the party but still don't have a ticket (and are a fan club member)? Ask me how.

He Oughta Know That By Now moved up 5 spots this week. Good work everyone! Do you have a secret to requesting? Maybe a tip that you can share on how you always manage to get the song played or any other tidbits. Leave a comment below and let people know your secret weapon!

I think I've sufficiently cleaned out my InBox from over the weekend. You guys sent me a lot of email over the weekend! If I owe you an email, yell at me and let me know.

The CMT contest is nearing its end! Have you been posting over there? If so, be sure you are forwarding all of your posts to me. I got a new fancy camera yesterday, and in the process of testing it, I took a shot of the contest prize. Just think how good this would look personally autographed to you on your wall. Get posting folks!

Things making me happy today? The cooler weather, the season finale of 24, the Astros on WGN, indie rock (today's selection: The Decemberists, Death Cab For Cutie and Hot Hot Heat), a LAW climb up the charts, being creative, organic cherry yogurt, getting loads of email from all of you, my new toy.

Easy/Lucky/Free

I don't have much to say today, but I was scared if I didn't post, someone would find out where I lived and hunt me down over the weekend. I plan on doing *nothing* this weekend except going for walks and watching the arsenal of DVDs I've yet to watch (Team America, Seinfeld Season 4, The Works of Michel Gondry, What the &^#* Do We Know and The Office UK).

If you need me, I'll be in seclusion in the west wing. Have a good weekend everyone!

Zzzzzzzzzzz....

I went to see a midnight showing of Star Wars last night and didn't get to sleep til 4am. Thankfully I've been running around with Lee Ann's Mom all day, but now that I've sat down at the computer to check email and chat with you guys, I can hardly keep my eyes open. I might watch The OC tonight and promptly pass out for 12 hours. Why can't George Lucas schedule these on a non school night?!!!

Everyone be sure to RUN!!! over and see the awesome player that Dustin put together. Included in it is a website with many radio station phone numbers and other web tools. Great work Dustin! I know I speak for everyone when I say it is much appreciated.

Have you called your favorite radio station(s) today and requested He Oughta Know That By Now?

All Apologies

I really meant to blog more during the show last night, I did, but we had about 6 people over to watch the show and I got preoccupied. Lee Ann looked great, sounded fantastic, and the standing ovation was just icing on the cake. I spoke to Lee Ann briefly this morning, and she said she had a great time last night. No awards, but we can't win them all. I honestly think she's going to sweep at the CMA Awards. One can hope!

There are more important things at the moment though than an awards show in October (or is it November?). He Oughta Know That By Now!!!! I know you guys are doing a great job with requesting the song at your local radio station. Many of you have been asking how you can help promote the song, and I think the best thing you can do is word of mouth. Play the song for a friend, group of friends, at a party, in the office, etc. If someone expresses interest in the song, tell them more about it and Lee Ann. Maybe they too will start requesting the song, telling people about it, and the grassroots monster really takes hold. Remember to be nice when you call to request the song! Keep me posted on what radio is saying, and how your friends, family and co-workers are taking to LAW.

You guys are the best! Love and gratitude always....

Get Off Your Seat!

How awesome was that standing O for the LAW? Really fantastic. And the twin fiddles were to die for. Hope everyone enjoyed it. I'll do my best to get Lee Ann to write about her experiences at the show.

Well, it must be the year of Tim. Female Vocalist still to come....

Tune In Live!

Tonight is the big night! Be sure to tune in to CBS tonight at 8ET/7CT for the Academy Of Country Music Awards. Not only will Lee Ann be performing "I May Hate Myself In the Morning", but she is up for Female Vocalist Of the Year as well as Single and Song Of the Year for "I May Hate Myself In the Morning". Keep your fingers crossed for her!

I've decided to live blog the awards tonight, so be sure to check back here throughout the show. And for you west coasters out there, just a heads up that I'm doing so in case you don't want to spoil yourself for the show.

Go LAW!

What's Going On In Your World?

I hope that you're doing fine. It was a really fantastic weekend here in the ol' Nashvegas. The weather was glorious, I saw 2 of my favorite artists back to back (The Decemberists and Patty Griffin) and feel refuled and ready to make the charge towards Fan Fair. Or is it CMA Country Music Festival? I don't like the name change. Isn't it just confusing for everyone?

The new video is up at LAW.com. Head on over and let me know what you think about it. It has clips from the road from the past month or so. I had a blast putting it together. Hope you enjoy it as well.

As most of you know, Lee Ann will be performing "I May Hate Myself In the Morning" on the ACM Awards tomorrow night on CBS. She's also up for Female Vocalist of the Year, as well as Single and Song of the Year. Keep your fingers crossed!

My email box is chock full again (115 messages!!!!) so if I owe you email, its coming soon. I hope to plow through it all this afternoon. Enjoy your Monday!

Here I Am

I'm just about to walk out the door (to a much needed weekend!) but wanted to say hello to those of you who have demanded it today. :) LAW has me very busy on a few projects, but I'm still here. I finished a new video for LAW.com today, it will be up as soon as I finish coding it. I hope you guys like it!

I also picked up the prize for the CMT contest today. We had to get it out of the back of LAW's trunk before this weird heat wave warped it to bits. But I have it in my possession now, so get posting you guys!

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. I've got two concerts lined up this weekend so I'm pretty excited about getting out and seeing some live music. Have a good one guys!

Contest Time

I hope you guys caught Lee Ann's CMT special over the weekend....wasn't it great?!! CMT has their own little community over at CMT.com and we'd love it if you guys could join in over there on the discussion. There's plenty to talk about these days too!!! Not only did LAW just have her own CMT special, but she has a new single out (He Oughta Know That By Now), a video that is playing all the time (I May Hate Myself In the Morning) and a summer tour with Toby Keith and Shooter Jennings.

You guys know how much I love to give things away and this is no exception! If you watched Lee Ann's CMT special, I'm sure you saw the album covers that were hanging in the background. Well, we obtained the one that has Lee Ann's album cover and are going to give it away! Here's the deal....for every post you make on Lee Ann's message board at CMT.com, email me with a link to that post along with your CMT.com user name and I'll enter you into the random drawing for the poster (which Lee Ann will sign TO YOU! if you win). The contest will run until May 27. So get posting, and remember to email me with links to your posts!

5, 4, 3, 2, 1....

Does anyone remember that great scene in Wayne's World where they relocate their show to that soundstage and have to do the countdown, but Garth keeps mouthing the numbers and Wayne keeps nodding his head? I'm doubting that will happen to Lee Ann tonight, but that's the image I got in my head when I heard that the CMT special tonight is indeed *live!*. I hope you guys are planning on tuning in tonight at 9ET/8CT to CMT to catch the show. If you happen to miss it, check LAW.com for additional airdates this weekend.

Come back here tomorrow and we'll discuss it!

I've got some promo items (thanks Dustin!) for those of you who would like web tools for the new single. Spread the love!

A Day In the Life

That would be the LAW with my parents. I'm glad that my Dad could set his drink down for 5 seconds! :) I didn't sit with them during the show, but they had a really good time, and my mom snapped a picture or two that I'll add at the end here.

I think one of the biggest misconceptions of touring is that it is a glamorous thing. While I guess parts of it can be fun, it is a grueling job, just like any other. A lot of work goes on by many, many different people on a daily basis to make sure that you guys can see the best show possible. When we arrived in Atlantic City about 3pm, everyone was already hard at work doing a soundcheck, working on the lights, straightening out tickets and meet and greets, and just generally making sure that everything ran smoothly. It is quite an operation!

We all had a really great time at the show, and it was good to see everyone since they had been on the road for so long. The very first thing Lee Ann said to me at soundcheck was, "We've got some great things on video for you to see!!!", so be looking for some new behind the scenes road video on LAW.com very soon. Thanks to everyone who came out to shows in April!
